Half term food inspiration

Half term is here and we have a few recipes to keep you and your little ones full!

Sourdough Pizza Party:

Ingredients:

  1. Sourdough bread slices
  2. Pizza sauce
  3. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  4. Your favorite pizza toppings (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, olives)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place sourdough bread slices on a baking sheet.
  3. Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce on each slice.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and add your favorite toppings.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and enjoying your homemade sourdough pizza!

Sourdough French Toast Sticks:

Ingredients:

  1. Sourdough bread, cut into sticks
  2. Eggs
  3. Milk
  4. Cinnamon
  5. Maple syrup for dipping

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and a dash of cinnamon.
  2. Dip sourdough bread sticks into the egg mixture, ensuring each side is coated.
  3. Cook the sticks on a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat until golden brown on each side.
  4. Serve with a side of maple syrup for dipping.
  5. A fun and delicious breakfast or snack for the kids during the half-term break!

Sourdough Berry Parfait:

Ingredients:

  1. Sourdough croutons (cubed and toasted)
  2. Greek yogurt
  3. Mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  4. Honey or maple syrup
  5. Granola for extra crunch (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In serving glasses or bowls, layer sourdough croutons at the bottom.
  2. Add a generous layer of Greek yogurt on top of the croutons.
  3. Scatter a handful of mixed berries over the yogurt layer.
  4. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the berries for sweetness.
  5. Repeat the layers until the glass is filled, finishing with a sprinkle of granola on top.
  6. Enjoy a refreshing and wholesome sourdough berry parfait as a nutritious snack during the half-term break!
