Salt Beef Bagel
Salt beef sandwiches have been keeping London’s East End fed (and happy) for over a century. Back then, queues outside Jewish delis were a familiar sight, and today the sandwiches still turn up in homes and cafes as a nod to the city’s rich immigrant history.
Ingredients
Plain bagel sliced in 2 halves
English mustard 2 teaspoons
1/4 red onion sliced thin
3 slices Sweet deli pickles
4/6 thin slices salt beef or 2 chunky slices
2 slices Swiss cheese
Method
Preheat air fryer (or oven in grill)
Spread mustard on both sides
Add salt beef
Then cheese
Then red onions
Grill for 4-5 minutes or until cheese has melted
Remove from air fryer
Place the pickles on top of the melted cheese
Close the sandwich
